Claims to have found a new form of energy

In a few years the world's energy problems can be solved believe Eng. Jorn Erik Ommang who is an expert on new and environmentally friendly energy. He states that the Blacklight Process developed in the United States and providing CO2-free energy and runs only on water, will be able to resolve future energy and climate challenges.

Offshore.no refer recently about the Norwegian-British company Gasplas who claimed to have made a decisive breakthrough in environmentally friendly production of hydrogen. By using plasma technology that was developed for the management of waste, Gasplas will split natural gas or methane so that one get out hydrogen, heat and carbon powder without CO2 emissions.
But according to energy expert, Eng. Jørn Erik Ommang, an American company has already developed a brand new CO2-free energy form, which should be significantly more powerful than coal, oil and gas. This can provide electricity to only 1,2 cents per KWh within a few years, he argues.
- The revolutionary is that it is now verified that hydrogen is not only an energy carrier but also a new form of energy. By using hydrogen from water and a chemical catalyst process it is verified that one can get 200 times more energy out of hydrogen than by the process that Gasplas use.
It is the U.S. company Black Light Power Inc., which claims to have found the revolutionary new form of energy.
- With the so-called Blacklight Process, one needs only water. You can even use sea water, and according to calculations the Blacklight Process can provide a house with energy for a year's supply from only seven litres of water.
Moreover, argues Ommang who is the project manager of the energy consulting company Enerley.com that Blacklight can provide CO2-free transportation to only 20 percent of current fuel costs. The company that follows the development of new forms of energy, said the Blacklight process is one of the most promising of those now being developed. Ommang have even followed the company with interest during the last ten years.
- The biggest since nuclear power
- This is the greatest thing that has happened in energy since the start-up of nuclear power in 1954 and this is the beginning of the end for the old renewable energy sources wind, solar, bio, and wave, "says Ommang who states that there are scientific and practical evidence of a new powerful, CO2-free form of energy that can replace the burners in coal-, oil-, and gas-fired power stations.
- Is it not too good to be true? Why is not this being more focused in the media here at home or in Europe?
- Yes we can well ask that question, but there is verified results from a U.S. university and there is already a working prototype of 50,000 watts, respond Ommang and believe that the reason for that this is not more known is that the media and researchers base too much on what is right in front of them and not on what is on the side.
- How does the Blacklight technology work?
- The Blacklight Process takes a hydrogen atom and "shrinks it", in other words one gets electron of the hydrogen atom to go into a lower orbit than the lowest known and in this way releases energy that is over 200 times more than the energy you get from burning hydrogen gas, such as for example in the Gasplas process.
He says further that this energy form shall be between 100 to 1,000 times more powerful than oil and gas.
- Although most physicists say that this is not theoretically possible, more than 80 scientific papers are supporting the results.
According Ommang can the Blacklight Process look similar to nuclear power, but is without radioactivity.
- Something in between regular chemistry as the Gasplas process and nuclear power, he explains.
- When came the research breakthrough?
- It started first by that the Blacklight Chief himself, Dr. Randell Mills, 19 years ago discovered that one could get more energy out of hydrogen than what we were previously aware of. But the major breakthrough came last year and this spring by that the US Rowan University verified that the company's two prototypes functioned as the company claimed, and that the university even managed to duplicate the process without assistance or chemical substances from the company.
Ommang even have knowledge of the official procedures available for testing of this process. He says that by this procedure any energy laboratory in Norway can test this out for themselves.
- In such a test one will see that one get much more heat energy out then traditional chemistry and physics would suggest, and that we are dealing with a whole new energy phenomenon. The energy in the form of heath comes therefore from the shrinkage of the hydrogen atom, he explains.
Commercialization
- How far forward is to commercialization?
Ommang shows the company's information about the six power plants that have already purchased licenses for a total of 8,400 megawatts and that these plants calculated to save 12 billion Norwegian Kroner a year using the Blacklight Process and water instead of coal, oil and gas as fuel.
- According to the company, it will take about two years until a commercial model that is usable for power plants, he says.
Ommang also believe houses can be equipped with Blacklight technology.
- But it's still relatively quiet about this technology that has been going on for a while. Why has no investors thrown themselves over this, or why has not Obama broadcast that the world is saved?
- In the United States and a number of countries, this new CO2-free form of energy and the Blacklight Process is somewhat known and the company has received the investor capital they need to come on the market within a few years. The Blacklight Process has been presented both on CNN, Reuters, CNN Money.com, the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Financial Times, Guardian, BBC Focus Science and Technology Monthly and on businessGreen.com.
- That this revolutionary breakthrough in CO2-free energy is not more known in Norway, shows something I have often experienced: Norwegian companies in traditional and renewable energy are focusing only on what they are accustomed to. They do not follow-up on the development of new modern CO2-free energy technologies. This attitude is dangerous and will now inflict Norwegian investors in the old outgoing technologies, such as wind, solar and bio, losses of several billions of kroner, believe Ommang.
Critical to the research establishments
He is also critical of the leading research groups in Norway, which he believes is far too sceptical to new forms of energy. He believes also that some research groups have published unscientific information about the Blacklight Process on its website, and thus discredited the technology.
Here are some quotes Ommang have noticed over the years:
"For example, the electrons in an atom can not fall all the way to the core, and we understand that there are electromagnetic fluctuations in field-free vacuum. But lower energy than the ground state is not possible, and we can not take the zero point energy out of a system .. .
"After seeing the many and strange stories in the newspapers and Technical Weekly (Teknisk Ukeblad), I will emphasize that no one should expect that science, PR-agents or Santa Claus will come with brand new and problem-free energy forms and save the future. Oil and gas for transportation, heating of houses, chemicals and fertilizers are not going to be redundant, and when these non-renewable resources begin to run out, a generation or two from now, the world energy crisis may come faster and be worse than the climate change the CO2 emissions may result in. "
"... My next thought was that perhaps there are ways to reduce the size of an atom with very sophisticated methods ala Boise-Einstein condensation and the like, but it is difficult to imagine that one can get any large amounts of energy based on manipulating individual atoms ... "
Eng. Jørn Erik Ommang believe such criticism affect investors and companies negatively and hinder the necessary restructuring.
- These scientific communities are therefore injuring in that they ensure that research funds are channelled into technologies that are not future-oriented, states Ommang.
Time will tell
In a few years we will know if the Blacklight technology is able to convince a sceptical, but energy-hungry world and will give the world a new, clean and cheap form of energy.
